Change DNS records for external email.

Plesk allows us to modify DNS records to have certain records pointed, put CNAMEs, indicate MX mail records...

For example, we can have the website with us and the email pointing externally to us. We will explain how to do this.
Firstly, we will have to access Plesk and enter the DNS records of our domain. (NOTE: This only works if the domain points the DNS to our server)

We enter Plesk, and go to Subscriptions and click on the Subscription we want to manage

Then, we enter the Advanced DNS Settings option.

Here we have all the DNS records of our server. To have the email externally we have to look at several records: in the MX records, and the IP pointers of webmail. and mail.

The MX record is the one that indicates which mail server we are going to use. In this case, since this is going to be external, we must delete and/or modify the default MX record for the one we want.
For example, to have the email service with Arsys, this MX record must be modified by mx.serviciodecorreo.es. To do this, we click on the record, and we can edit it and put the server we want.

Normally, in addition to the MX record, providers indicate several more domains, as they can be CNAME, A types, ... To add a new CNAME record, we can click on the Add Record button. Then when we access it, in the record type we indicate CNAME and indicate the data they ask us for.

As we mentioned before, even if these data are not indicated in the email service provider, it is better to change the pointers of mail. and webmail. to type A and indicate the IP of the email service. This way, in case we put webmail. or mail. in any configuration, it redirects us to the external email service.
