before making any type of update, we advise you to make backups. You can see how to make backups by clicking here and how to restore them here.
Plesk has the Wordpress Toolkit tools that allow us to update themes, plugins, ... from the panel without having to enter the Wordpress administration. We will explain how to do it in both ways.
Updating Wordpress from administration
To update Wordpress from the administration, first we have to enter Wordpress with the administrator user. Then we have to access the section Home > Updates.
Inside we will have several options, we can check the latest updates by clicking on the Check again button.
In case of having available updates, it will indicate that we can update Wordpress and the version to which it will be updated. By clicking on Update now the update process will begin.
After clicking on Update now, it will start updating Wordpress. When it finishes, it will show us a screen with the version of Wordpress and the most significant changes.
In addition to this, you can update Plugins and Themes from this option. Below we find the Plugins section, and it will indicate all the plugins that have a new version. We can click on the ones we want or select all to update them. After selecting the plugins we want to update, we click on the Update plugins button.
With the themes, the section is the same, we can select the themes we want to update and we only have to click on Update themes to update them.
