What is a migration?
We often change our hosting provider and move our website to a different provider.
A migration consists of changing the hosting of the website, databases, and emails from one provider to another.
At Profesional Hosting, we take care of migrations and we are working on a migrator so that in the not too distant future, the client will be in charge of this.
How do I request a migration to Profesional Hosting?
Through your client area and in writing
The first thing you need to do is log in to your client area from: https://clientes.profesionalhosting.com
Once here, you must log in with the email and password you registered as a client
In the top menu, we look for support
and once we click on support, the submenu opens where we find Open Ticket or Incident
and once we click on Open Ticket or Incident, a new window will open where we must choose the department
in this case, we choose the Migration Department
and here the form begins where we will request the migration
Name and Email Address are automatically filled in and we cannot modify these parameters, as they belong to the user
Now we fill it out as follows
Original Company: We will put the name of the company from where the migration will be made (1and1, Arsys...)
User: We will put the user we use to log in as users in the original company
Password: password necessary to be able to log in to the company
Control Panel URL: we will mark the hosting control panel URL
User: We will indicate the user of the control panel
Password: We will put the password necessary to access the control panel
DNS Change: If we want the Professional Hosting team to change the DNS, we will mark this box
* note: with the DNS change, the domain will be associated with the Professional Hosting server
* note: the DNS change needs a propagation time of up to 48 hours
Preferred Day: if you prefer the migration to be done on a specific day
* note: The Migration Department works from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Subject: by default it says migration form, it can be left like this if desired
Later on, the form continues
What we must fill out as follows
Department: We will leave migrations (as it is the department in charge of migrations)
Related Services: In this case, we can choose from our contracted services with Profesional Hosting, if for example, we have several servers contracted, in which of them the website will be hosted
Priority: the default medium priority is correct
Message: in the message we will indicate the websites that we want to migrate and if there is anything interesting that the migration colleagues should know
for example: if there is any special DNS zone or if we want to migrate email accounts, if so, we will have to indicate the email accounts and their passwords
Attachments: In this field, the client can send us a file to clarify the information or for informational purposes
