The Plesk control panel has a navigation menu that we can find throughout our stay on the left side. It is composed of a large number of options and shortcuts. Many can also be found within Websites and domains.
Let's review the different sections we have in the left sidebar menu:
Search...: this is the search box, from here we can search for customers, resellers, domains, ... and access them directly. Also, to server settings.
Home: this takes us to the home screen, where we can see a summary of our server, such as name, IP address, operating system,...
Customers: in this section we can create customers, so that they have access to their accounts only at the subscription level. They will not be able to manage anything in the general server configuration, in their associated subscriptions they can create email accounts, databases, add files, modify them, ...
Resellers: like customers, they have independent access with the server administrator, but they can also create customers and modify their subscriptions. They can also have their own subscriptions to manage.
Domains: here we can see a list of all the domains that our server has hosted. We can add domains, subdomains, and aliases from here. We can also suspend and delete domains. It indicates for each one the type of hosting they have, the associated subscriber, date of registration, disk usage, ...
Subscriptions: shows us the subscriptions we have created on our server. The difference with domains is that in a subscription there can be more than one domain, making it possible for a customer with a subscription to have 3 domains on the same data structure. However, a customer with 3 subscriptions each with a domain, these are independent and do not influence anything.
Service plans: service plans are used to create templates with subscription resources. This way, you can have resource or permission limitations on customers in their subscriptions depending on the plan they have associated. For example, you can have a service plan that allows 10GB of hosting and another that allows 5GB.
Tools & Settings: in this section we can see many utilities and configurations for our server, such as being able to change its name, time and date, modify the DNS template, configure scheduled tasks,...
Extensions: from here we can manage Plesk extensions. They add new functionalities to Plesk, for example, being able to make certificates with Let's Encrypt, add GIT repositories, add spam filters like MagicSpam,...
Profile & Preferences: here we can modify the data in our profile on the server, such as name, email address, number, ...
Change Password: we can change the password of the user we are logged in as from here. We will need the old password to be able to change it.
As we have already mentioned, the number of options we can find in the server tools will always be conditioned by the permissions we have. The aforementioned sections are displayed if you have server administrator permissions. This distinguishes, for example, a Shared Hosting service and a VPS, since in the VPS we can find the Tools & Settings section to be able to make modifications at the server level.
At the top, the logo is shown (which we can customize) and on the right it indicates the User we are logged in as, in addition, in the case of being within a subscription/domain, it indicates which subscription we are managing. If we click on Logged in as USER, a dropdown will appear where we can Log out and edit our profile.
