WordPress themes are the visible part of your page, the first thing the visitor sees when they enter.
When you install WordPress it comes with a series of default themes, but you can install many more themes, both from WordPress and created by other users. Changing the theme of your page changes the appearance, the structure of the content and allows you to customize the design of your site.
There are several ways to install a theme on your WordPress, manually, automatically or from WordPress themes.

The first thing you have to do to install a theme is to download the theme files you like. If you are a client of Professional Hosting we have a gallery of free themes available here.
Once you have the theme on your computer, you must unzip the files and check if there is a readme.txt file, as it will explain if you have to do anything before installing the theme or during installation.
The next step is to upload the files to the wp-content/themes/ folder on your server using an ftp client. If you don't know how to do this, you can watch this video that will guide you through it.
Now you just need to access the administration panel of your domain at www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ and enter Appearance > Themes in the left menu where you can activate and configure the theme you just installed.

Just like to install the theme manually, you must download the theme file, but this time you don't need to unzip it.
From the Worpress administration panel, in the left menu enter Appearance > Themes.
At the top of the window that opens, there is a button that says Upload Theme, click on it and select the compressed file with the theme.
Then just select the theme and configure it as before.

In addition to the default themes, WordPress has a collection of its own free themes that can be used.
To install one of these themes, when entering the Appearance > Themes window you can choose one of the themes that appear in the gallery or use the search engine on the page to find the one you want.
