Magento allows us to easily and quickly activate the HTTPS protocol. To enable it, it is necessary to have an SSL certificate installed on the server. If we do not have our own certificate, we can hire one from this link.

Once this certificate is installed, we just have to follow these steps:

  • Access the administrator panel of our Magento.

  • Then, in the side menu, go to Stores → Configuration.

Once in this view, we go to the Web subcategory that is within the GENERAL section and expand the following tabs: Base URLs and Base URLs (Secure). If it appears as shown in the image, that is, in the Base URLs section the "Base URL" appears without https, we must add it so that everything is redirected through

If we want to only load the website through https using the SSL certificate, we must set it up as shown in the following image:
