Joomla! has a wide range of templates that we can download from their website, but it is true that if we want to offer a professional or competitive look, it is recommended to resort to paid ones.
Aspects to consider when choosing our template
From Profesional Hosting, we recommend that before choosing a template for your website, take into account these points:
Functionality: Firstly, we have to look for a template that has the structure and functions that we are going to need, since generally and especially if we use a paid one, the programming team of this one usually offers a customization framework and some additional function. Since it is always easier to change an image than to add a function.
Trust: Another essential aspect is the origin of our template. From Profesional Hosting, we recommend choosing trustworthy web pages, since this is one of the main sources of website intrusions.
Durability: Choose a team that constantly takes care of updating and implementing new improvements to our template, this will allow our template to be updated at the same time as our Joomla!.
Install templates
To be able to install our template, it is first necessary to upload it to our server via FTP.
In our case, we can do it in two ways:
Use an FTP manager "FileZilla".
Use the file manager of our hosting control panel.
In our case, we will use the file manager of our Plesk panel.
To do this, we will upload the template inside the root directory in the templates folder.
Once the upload is complete, we will have to access our Joomla! control panel and go to Extensions >> Templates.
In this new window, we just have to click on the star to make it the default template.
